Method

How to check a mining title

The portal provides a first check. The legal verification of a title then follows a precise process, which the Firm conducts for its clients.

  1. Search for the rightEnter the permit code, company name or mineral, or navigate to the site and identify the areas covering it.
  2. Identify the rightNote the code, category, holder, minerals, size, grant and expiry dates, and any pending applications.
  3. Obtain written confirmationRequest certified cadastral information and the file’s instruments from CAMI, the only ones enforceable against third parties.
  4. Check validityVerify payment of annual surface fees, environmental obligations, renewals and the absence of forfeiture.
  5. Review encumbrances and conflictsIdentify registered mortgages and leases (amodiations), transfers, overlaps, prohibited areas and protected areas.
  6. Secure the transactionReflect these findings in the deal structure: conditions precedent, guarantees, representations and a timetable of formalities.

Reliability

A consultation, not a certificate

The portal is the official source published by CAMI. Its data is updated regularly, but a recent transaction (transfer, renewal, relinquishment, forfeiture) may not yet appear: the date of the last update is shown when the portal opens.

Only the Mining Registry’s records, the certified information it issues and the instruments of the mining administration are authoritative as to the existence, extent, holder and validity of a mining right.

The information displayed is neither legal advice, nor a certificate, nor a guarantee regarding any title or area.

Mining due diligence

A title to check before investing?

The Firm verifies the existence, validity, chain of ownership and encumbrances of mining titles, and secures the related acquisition, partnership or lease.
